Iranian Kurdish opposition groups, united in a coalition since last February, issued a statement this weekend calling on all "oppressed minorities in Iran” to unite in support of a democratic transition. But in Iraqi Kurdistan, these Kurdish parties, in exile for decades, continue to be targeted by Iran. Five Kurdish fighters have been killed in these strikes since the start of the conflict, despite limited recent action in opposition to the regime in Tehran.
