Doha, Qatar – March 18, 2026 The escalation of hostilities in Lebanon since 2 March 2026 has led to widespread displacement and rapidly increasing humanitarian needs, as outlined in the Lebanon Flash Appeal (March–May 2026) issued by OCHA. Families continue to flee affected areas, seeking refuge in collective shelters, informal sites, and host communities, placing significant strain on already fragile infrastructure. Urgent needs are concentrated in food assistance, shelter, and core relief items, WASH services, health care, and access to electricity, particularly in high-density displacement settings. Without immediate support, conditions are expected to deteriorate further, increasing risks for vulnerable groups, including women, children, older persons, and persons with disabilities. Emergency Response Plan Highlights In response, Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a multi-sector emergency response valued at USD 2.35 million, combining direct implementation with partner-led interventions to ensure timely and coordinated assistance. The response includes a contribution of USD 300,000 from the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), with the remaining funding provided by Qatar Charity. The operation prioritizes life-saving support and the continuity of essential services. Planned interventions include: Food assistance: hot meals, ready-to-eat rations, and food parcels targeting approximately 15,000–25,000 people Shelter kits and CRIs : essential household items for 3,500–5,000 households Shelter rehabilitation and cash-for-shelter: improving collective shelters and supporting displaced families in rented or hosted accommodation WASH: emergency water supply, sanitation services, and support to collective shelters Solar electricity systems: powering shelters, health facilities, and care institutions Health: provision of essential medical supplies to sustain primary health care services This emergency
